 What is a profile?
A profile is a unique web page dedicated to one member of the site. Each member, including you, has their own profile page. It shows your screen name, photos, friends,
and facts such as your age, height, likes and dislikes etc. It contains your description of yourself, and the type
of people you'd like to meet.
Creating your profile is the first and most important step when you join, and you should take some time to write
a great description of yourself and upload some alluring photos.
Profile reviewing
All new and updated profiles are manually reviewed by a member of staff - yes a real human being! This is necessary because some people try to bring
the quality of the site down by submitting fake profiles, duplicate or trolling profiles, or offensive material. Also for your privacy, safety and security
, you are not allowed to include personal contact details such as phone numbers, email addresses or web addresses in your profile. Our reviewers will disallow any
profile with this kind of information in it.
On average it takes us about three hours to review your profile, but it is always reviewed within 12 hours.
Why is my profile under review?
If you make a change to your profile, we take it offline to re-review it. On average it takes about three hours to
re-review your profile, but it is always re-reviewed within 12 hours.
We re-review all profiles after changes have been made to ensure the profile still falls within our rules.
For example we do not allow email addresses, web addresses or phone numbers in profiles.
Changing your profile
To change your profile:
- log in
- click "My profile" on the main menu
- follow the instructions on-screen
Removing your profile
You can show or hide your profile at any time. For example if you are going away and don't want to be
contacted, you can hide your profile temporarily. Remember if your profile is hidden, nobody can send messages
to you, so it is a good idea to keep your profile showing at all times.
To show or hide your profile:
- log in
- click "My profile" on the main menu
- tick or untick the "Show my profile" box
- click "Update
If you want to completely remove your profile and remove your account from our system, you need to go to our cancellation
page.
Who has viewed my profile
Every time a member looks at your profile we increase your "hit counter" by one. If possible we also log who it was and the time they looked.
To find out how many times your profile has been viewed:
- log in
- click "Who's looking" in the "Profile" panel on your home page
To find out exactly who has looked at your profile, and when:
- log in
- click "Who's looking?" on the main menu
Note: the who's looking list shows people who have looked at your profile within the last 70 days.
Profile privacy information
Here is the information you need about privacy on your profile page. For privacy reasons, profile pages on BlueDating.com are only visible to
logged-in members of the site. They are not made available to the general public or to search engines.
Self-description: members only - only logged-in members of the site can see this information.
Seek-description: members only - only logged-in members of the site can see this information.
Tags: members only - only logged-in members of the site can see this information.
Seek-relationships: members only - only logged in members of the site can see this information
Marital status: members only - only logged in members of the site can see this information
Sexuality: members only - only logged in members of the site can see this information.
Children: members only - only logged in members of the site can see this information.
Height: members only - only logged in members of the site can see this information.
Build: members only - only logged in members of the site can see this information.
Drinking: members only - only logged in members of the site can see this information.
Smoking: members only - only logged in members of the site can see this information.
Area: members only - only logged in members of the site can see this information.
Show profile: private - only you can see this information.
